HOW IT WAS MADE
The artist directed this work. Its interpreter, interface and notation were
written with Codex, an OpenAI language model, in October 2026. The c0unt
typeface in ../f/ was made for this repository with Claude in the initial
otherwise session; that work retains its original attribution.

Underprint does not use Strudel. The older otherwise experience remains
available at ../otherwise/ with its own credits and license notice. No new
third-party runtime code, sound recordings or external model services are
used by underprint.

CLAIM BOUNDARY
This is an operational, finite mark system: its internal equivalences,
punctuation and pair reductions are mutable; its interpreter and stage order
are fixed. It explores constrained recoverability and makes no claim of new
mathematical results. A canonical released reading deliberately omits source
distinctions. Exact source recovery from that artifact alone is impossible
when distinct sources have the same release; the full local journal can
still restore those distinctions. This is not a claim of absolute erasure.

LOCAL WORK
Drawing and interpretation run in the browser. The experience has no
telemetry, accounts or application-server requests. Exports are local files;
the full journal contains the user's marks and retained branch history. Undo
preserves the undone future until a new edit replaces that future branch.
A released reading has a different, explicitly narrower information boundary.
